Gen Con Announcement: Cartel

Last spring, we raised more than $50,000 for Cartel, a Mexican narcofiction game by Mark Diaz Truman. In Cartel you play bold narcos, naive spouses, and dirty cops with connections to the Sinaloa drug cartel, echoing crime fiction like The Wire, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos.

More than five years ago, Mark Diaz Truman set out to create a game capable of evoking the pain and promise of his culture, trying to determine exactly what a Mexican-American RPG could be. After releasing an ashcan of the game in 2015, we’re excited to say that the full version of the game is almost here!

Kickstarter backers should expect to receive their products this fall, with the game becoming available to everyone shortly afterwards through our webstore and in full retail distribution.
If this is your first time hearing about Cartel and want to learn more, Mark did an AMA during the kickstarter last year, as well as a Misdirected Mark episode to talk more about his thoughts on the design process.
