Uncle Iroh's Adventure Guide Coming Soon!

Magpie Games will release Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide in September 2024 – a collection of adventures and custom mechanics focused on Jasmine Island, the legendary home of a special type of jasmine tea beloved by Uncle Iroh from Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender.

This supplement to Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game recounts Jasmine Island’s history, inhabitants, and conflicts as Uncle Iroh guides players through a series of exciting adventures that can be played independently or as an ongoing campaign featuring multiple generations of heroes across several eras. The book also features several different types of supplementary materials – including playbooks, NPC legends, information on Jasmine Island, and mechanics for generational play.

“We are incredibly excited to continue expanding Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game with new mechanics, playbooks, and adventures,” says Mark Diaz Truman, CEO of Magpie Games. “We love how the history of the Avatarverse plays out over generations—our heroes often mentor the youth of the Four Nations and inherit the legacy of their parents and elders—and we can’t wait to give players and GMs new tools and adventures that enable groups to engage in generational play across multiple eras!”

Jasmine Island—the overall framing device for the supplement and a legendary location described by Uncle Iroh—provides a backdrop for the adventures that span all five eras, from the Kyoshi Era to the Korra Era. Alongside the new playbooks, legends, and additional mechanics, these adventures hold to the truth that the events of the past inform and shape the heroes of the present, encouraging players to follow the legacy of their characters across multiple eras of the island’s history.

Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide promises to be a stellar additional chapter to the award-winning line. Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game was named “one of the best new tabletop RPG books of 2023” by Polygon, won 2023 Gold ENNIE Awards for Best Family Game and Best Rules, and has enjoyed unprecedented reach for a tabletop roleplaying game. The line was introduced to fans old and new via a record-breaking $10.5 million dollar Kickstarter campaign—the biggest tabletop RPG campaign in Kickstarter history—breaking the previous record ($2.1 million) by nearly five times with the help of 80,000+ backers. Mass market retailer, Target, took notice and the Avatar Legends Starter Set (initially exclusive to Target) introduced tabletop roleplaying to tens of thousands of new players and is available now in both hobby and retail distribution.
